The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is hiring a Court Liaison for our Jail Based Competency Restoration unit. Under the general direction of the JBCR Program Manager, the Court Liaison performs a combination of duties related to facilitating communication with the courts, administrative and/or clerical tasks to support the JBCR Program staff. Duties will include collaboration with JBCR Program staff, Court personnel, and Adult Forensic management. Primary duties include maintaining court records, receiving, preparing or verifying court documents, searching for and compiling information and data pertinent to the JBCR Program. Additional duties include being support for the JBCR Program Manager to ensure accurate tracking of program metrics. The Court Liaison will provide administrative information to department; personnel and performs miscellaneous support functions as assigned.
Your role in Action:
- Maintain flow of information for court orders using multiple systems and effectively communicates with judges, attorneys and other court staff as needed.
- Provides routine office support according to organization/departmental procedures such as: answering phone calls, responding to emails, coordination of court orders, distributing orders, updating system details, typing and filing.
- Assembles, enters, organizes data in program tracking systems on a daily bases to maintain accurate information for reporting.
- Complies reports and distributes according to departmental/organizational procedures
- Provides administrative support for the JBCR Program Manager in accordance with departmental/organizational procedures.
- Works well with others in a collaborative manner. Actively participates as a member of the team.
- Complies with The Harris Center and HCSO policies and procedures, accrediting/regulatory bodies and contractual requirements.
- Demonstrates ethical conduct, professionalism, and confidentiality in all activities.
- Communicates and works with staff/patients/outside personnel in a manner that demonstrates sensitivity to cultural diversities.
What qualifications you will need:
Education:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
Experience:
- 5 years of general office experience required or
- Associate’s degree and three (3) years of general office experience or
- Bachelor’s Degree and (1) year of general office experience.
Requires Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- The person must have well developed interpersonal, organizational skills and be a team player with a desire to provide high level customer service.
- Possess strong verbal and communications skills and interacts effectively at all levels within the organization.
- Requires a typing speed of 35 wpm and must pass all clerical support skills test at a minimum average of 55 or above.
- Good interpersonal and public relation skills.
- Solid analytical, creative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Well organized and project management skills.
- Able to work well independently and willing to work on assigned shift/days.
