Wood is seeking a Right of Way Manager to join our Oil, Gas & New Energies business focusing on delivering large and complex projects for national and international energy companies. This opportunity is Hybrid.

The Role

Wood is currently seeking a Right of Way Manager to join our team. The role will advise company Management, Field Managers, Supervisors and Agents on all right-of-way matters to ensure company goals are achieved. They will be responsible for the implementation and enforcement of all company guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Typical responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for right-of-way budget and to support the Right of Way Manager II with budgeting and cost responsibilities.
  • Responsibility for all client relationships for the right-of-way department
  • Responsible for employee management
  • Responsible for managing the invoice review and approval process.
  • Responsible for managing project setup for all new projects.
  • Assignments cover broad and complex subject matter where issues and factors may be characterized by unusual demands and require additional analysis to determine the nature and scope of the problem.
  • Devises new approaches to problems encountered and develops unique or multiple solutions for complex technical problems.
  • Anticipates potential problems, and proactively solves complex problems through creative thinking and creative use of internal/external resources both inside and outside of discipline expertise.
  • Responsibility for and impact on budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and procedural change.
  • Assignments are made in terms of a broad practice, precedents, policies, and goals.
  • Receives general guidance and direction.
  • Seller-Doer, including Right-of-Way business development, networking, proposal writing, and client management. Responsible for nurturing client relationships, winning contracts, and delivering quality technical service.

Expected:

  • Minimum of ten years of proven experience in all aspects of the Right of Way profession with special emphasis on the acquisition of the necessary rights, both fee and easement, required by the company for the construction of the pipeline and related facilities
  • Associate's degree in business, Law, Engineering, or Real Estate or equivalent experience in title research, pre-law, surveying, or abstracting
  • Right of way professional certification preferred.
  • Ability to effectively execute and manage assignment/project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Strong knowledge of right-of-way leases, grants, and fee purchase mechanism
  • Familiar with real estate public records and is knowledgeable of ownership rights associated with these documents.
  • Familiar with condemnation procedures
  • Understand mapping and drawings pertinent to the project scope.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Ability to present detailed status reports as prescribed by the company.
  • Ability to coordinate outside land services as needed.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in mentoring, knowledge transfer, and project planning.
  • Ability to persuade individuals with differing opinions or interests to change criteria or methods, accept findings, or reach an agreement on technical points.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
