We’re hunting for a Pathology Image Graphic Design, someone who’s ready to be part of a growing team with amazing opportunities. In this position you will create visually appealing, engaging, and technically sound communications, medical illustrations, and graphics for the Pathology Department. This will include conceptualizing, executing, and meeting deadlines on projects.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Conceptual development and creation of design graphic materials to include brochures, newsletters, signage, scientific presentation displays, internal communications and maintaining an exceptional standard of quality

Design and prepare graphic artwork such as layout design, slide presentation, charts, graphs, diagrams, displays, and other related graphics work such as medical illustrations and camera/digital ready art for medical journals, books, presentations, posters, displays, and grant proposals.

Work with pathologists/scientists, and lab personnel to establish deadlines, organize creative projects, offer guidance and support to requesting parties, and meet as necessary to ensure that creative materials are progressing as anticipated and as required.

Serve as a visual translator of complex technical information to support education and medical and bio-scientific research.

Work as a team with pathologists/scientists, lab personnel, and administrative support staff to obtain information and deadlines critical to the outcome of the project.

Research and compile a variety of information for assigned projects. Identify and determine the most cost-effective ways to create presentation projects.

Confer with staff, faculty, and lab personnel to plan, design, proof and revise graphics jobs and determine product output from rough draft and oral instructions. Review work submitted for reproduction. Proofread work to ensure completeness, quality and clarity of original copy.

Communicate with pathologists, lab personnel, and administrative staff during the creation and editing of projects to ensure that draft changes are accepted and approved as necessary.

Manage daily work to ensure that all deadlines are met and that all projects are completely accurate and precise.

Create and manipulate electronic images to support professional journals, scientific presentation displays, grant images, and brochures.

Photo retouching and editing for academic use.

Provide graphic support for the Pathology Department.

Recommend Software and Hardware Applications Improvements.

Performs other department related duties.

Skills & Requirements

Associate's degree in art, graphic design, illustration, or related field or other completion of a 2-year program in graphic design required

Bachelor's degree art, graphic design, illustration, or related field preferred

3 years' experience as a graphic designer or illustrator required

1 year experience in medical/scientific illustration, graphic design, data visualization, or related field preferred

A bachelor's degree in art, graphic design, illustration, or related field may be considered in lieu of 3 years of experience. Or 5 years of graphic design experience may be substituted for the degree

This role is also 95% remote, with very little need to be onsite; however, candidates should have the ability to come onsite when requested for certain events and tasks.
