Lead Route Driver

What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities:
  • Effectively and efficiently lead drivers during the loading and unloading of GOH and tuxedos.
  • Assist in accurate loading/unloading of delivery trucks and OTR trucks
  • Ensuring that any operational or personnel issues are reported to the manager
  • Monitor all transfers to/from DC & Hub to ensure accuracy
  • Promptly and accurately report any discrepancies from the OTR truck
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipment and pick up of all tuxedos
  • Assist to ensure all third party shipments are accurately prepared and ready to be picked up by carrier at the agreed time
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of Hub facility, shipping department of DC, company trucks, and equipment
  • Assist in the development, implementation and execution of plans to achieve department goals
  • Meet production goals as determined by Management
  • Provide high quality employee relations through support of corporate policies, directives and procedures
  • Assist to ensure current and accurate inventory of boxes, supplies etc.
  • Provide appropriate recommendations to enhance efficiencies
  • Provide feedback to ensure that all best-practices are used
  • Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all employees, store personnel and management
  • Assist to ensure compliance with security measures
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities
  • Assist in the research and resolve transfer discrepancies in a timely fashion
  • Perform work as assigned by the Transportation Manager
  • Maintain and ensure a safe working environment
  • Participate in special projects as needed
What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (2) years working experience in related field
  • Previous experience in a leadership role
  • Basic computer and software skills with Microsoft Office: Windows XP, Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience with EDL (electronic drivers logs) and familiar with DOT regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent math and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills required
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work related tasks and special projects
  • Prefer the candidate be able to adapt to changing priorities, multi-task, detail-oriented, goal-driven and strong work ethic
  • Initiative to learn and willingness to take on new tasks
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Fluent in speaking, writing and understanding the English Language
  • Flexible with work schedule; dependable and reliable
  • Required to participate in day-to-day activities in both the delivery Hub and DC
  • Be available to provide off-shift coverage as needed
  • Required to monitor company cell phone for driver messages or management instructions
Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands:
  • Continuously standing, walking, sitting, reaching and working overhead, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, and crawling
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
  • Frequent use of ladders, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and lift gates
  • Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more
