  • Ensures caseflow management by preparing, reviewing, and maintaining jury charges, judgments, dockets, files, and court orders
  • Ensures that Court’s management goals and objectives are met by implementing and monitoring activities.
  • Provides necessary training and schedules employees while reporting and submiting time records.
  • Develops annual court budget and oversees the processing of purchase orders of supplies and equipment and recommends equipment expenditures.
  • Serves as a liaison between the court, public, state and federal agencies, and County departments.
  • Maintains updated information regarding Court’s hourly credit for continuing legal education as required by the Supreme Court and State Bar of Texas; Attends training conferences and seminars (minimum 16 hours yearly) and lectures to professional peer groups.
  • Responds to telephone inquiries, resolves or directs to proper person.
  • Prepares, opens, date stamps, and distributes mail items.
  • Assists judge with travel arrangements, clerical duties, schedules, mail, and other duties as assigned.
  • Updates law library, conducts legal research, and prepares court correspondence.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; or High School Diploma/GED and Para-professional certification .
  • 3 years experience as a court coordinator in a court of record, or 5 years experience as a legal secretary from a law firm practicing civil and/or criminal trial law .
  • Strong computer skills, specifically word processing, spreadsheet, and data base software. Minimum typing 45 WPM.
  • Verbal and written communication skills; organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials; ability to complete assigned projects.
  • Certification in Trial Court Coordination and Trial Court Management by Texas Center for the Judiciary preferred.

STARTING SALARY: $91,873.60 per year
