POSITION PROFILE
This Administrative Associate position will perform professional administrative functions related to the support of Department staff, programs, and procedures, and helps ensure City/Department functions are operating at a high level; operates within a team for core priorities, while also carrying out specifically-assigned administrative support tasks.

 Specific duties include:

  • Performing multiple Department administrative functions, including Department Buyer (Purchasing) training, public notification, scheduling, correspondence, document handling/routing, data compiling/data entry, technical support requests, and customer service
  • Providing quality customer support to internal and external customers by phone, email, and in-person
  •  Participates in special projects or tasks, as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is physically comfortable; requires stooping or bending. Occasional lifting, such as three or four reams of paper or books (up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight) may be required. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

No experience is required. 

Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis. 

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
None.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate experience with:

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated time management & organizational skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines; 
  • Adapts well to changes; Demonstrated success working with diverse clientele.

Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well   as the pay rates of other employees in this classification. The salary range is:
