Job Description Summary / TWC SummaryThe College of Science Engineering and Technology at Texas Southern University is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Unmanned Aerial Systems, who is competent in instructing students with an active research agenda. The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree (Ph.D.) with an emphasis in Aviation, Drone Technology or Aeronautical Engineering from a regionally accredited university, with a supplemental field in Aviation Management or Drone Technology. This is a 9-month tenure track position with teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
Essential Duties SummaryTeach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Unmanned Aerial SystemsConduct research that is presentable at professional academic conferences and acceptable for publication in referred academic journalsActive participation in departmental, school and university committeesService to one’s profession and the surrounding communityAdvise and mentor studentsOther job-related duties as assigned

EducationPh.D. in Aviation, Drone Technology or Aeronautical Engineering from a regionally accredited university at time of hire.
Supplemental field in Unmanned Aerial Systems/UAV or Aeronautical Engineering.
