Executive Chef – Patient/Resident - Luby's Culinary Services

The Executive Chef will lead the culinary trajectory for patient and resident food service programs. They will be responsible for menu creation, managing kitchen operations, overseeing food quality, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining cost controls.

Your responsibilities as the Executive Chef – Patient/Resident will include:

  • Designs and implement creative, seasonally appropriate menus.
  • Incorporates local and sustainable ingredients.
  • Innovate new dishes while maintaining consistency in established signature dishes.
  • Works with clinical team to ensure all nutritional and national guidelines are being followed.
  • Works with menu management system and understand all modules.
  • Supervises the daily kitchen operations.
  • Trains and coaches the kitchen staff processes, procedures and kitchen operations.
  • Monitor food costs.
  • Ensures the highest standards of food presentation, flavor, and consistency.
  • Ensures compliance with food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.

To thrive as our Executive Chef – Patient/Resident, you must have:

  • Positive, professional attitude.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or similar leadership role in a hospital and/or senior living community.
  • Expertise in patient feeding.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Expertise in modern and classing cooking techniques, including international cuisine.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to healthcare food service.
