Job Summary:

The Power Settlements Analyst position reports to the Senior Manager, Power Settlements and manages processes related to power commodity settlements.  Primary responsibility is to ensure all ISO settlement data is captured in the respective ISO database.  Responsibilities include settlement of transactions, power gross margin calculation, analysis, and reporting.  Requires coordination with departments including Supply, Risk, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounting and Finance to identify and resolve issues, assist with cash forecasting and variance analysis, and fulfil settlement obligations with ISOs and other counterparties.

Responsibilities:

·         Manage the interaction with the ISO markets.

·         Develop and maintain procedures to ensure all the power bilateral and ISO invoices are reconciled, processed, and paid on a timely manner.

·         Serve as a backup for ISO settlements/invoicing as needed.

·         Maintain/monitor the settled data in Adapt2 database.

·         Utilize actual settled data to analyze costs for month end close process.

·         Monitor ISO certificates/OATI for the ISOs.

·         Monitor ISO notices to evaluate the impacts to JE’s Settlements team.

·         Provide an in-depth analysis of variances between actual and expected gross margin.

·         Provide a detailed variance analysis between estimated and actual energy cost and provide feedback to Trading.

·         Identify optimization and saving opportunities and bring  transparency to the cost of power.

·         Perform shadow settlements on ISO transactions.

·          Work with Corporate Planning to ensure gross margin forecast accuracy.

·          Interact with external counterparties to resolve discrepancies.

·          Interact with internal partners as required including Legal, Supply Team, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and Finance.

·          Work with other teams across the Company to implement and improve processes and systems supporting the activities above.

·          Support internal and external audit requests.

·          Work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

·         Undergraduate degree in finance/accounting from an accredited college or university with at least 3 years of experience

·         Some experience in the energy industry

·         Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills.

·         Moderate to Advanced SQL experience preferred.

·         Working knowledge of ETRM/CTRM systems.

·         Business-oriented professional with strong intellect who can problem-solve and put processes into place.

·         Interact effectively with senior leadership and communicate effectively with business partners.

·         Detail oriented self-starter with strong analytical, critical thinking and communication skills who can effectively manage multiple assignments.

·         Ability to work independently.

·         Organized person who can plan and adjust to timing challenges of multiple deadlines.

·         Work in a team environment to achieve goals of the department and the company.

·         Light travel may be required.
