If you are an experienced Software Sales Manager looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  

In this critical role, you will be responsible for generating sales opportunities in order to win new business to support our software solutions product lines for the Natural Gas industry. This includes leak detection, scheduling, as well as volumetric accounting (Order-to-Cash) software solutions. Our customers transport and store liquid and gas hydrocarbons and chemicals in a vast network of terminals throughout the US. The ideal candidate is a tenacious self-starter who can quickly learn the products and sell them. The sales cycle within this space can be from 6 months to 2 years. 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Researching Natural Gas prospective customers' headquarters and identify high level executives within the organizations
  • Strategically pursuing new customers who have not done business with Emerson before
  • Expertly identifying the needs and opportunities to provide solutions 
  • Communicating and making strong connections with C-level and VP-level executives 
  • Listening to customers in a consultative manner while and defining solutions to sell our software and implementation services
  • Demonstrating agility to work multiple threads at the same time
  • Effectively applying the hunter (acquisition) and farmer (retention) methods of solution selling
  • Getting results, contacting prospects (sometimes through cold calls), and building relationships.

You effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels. You break down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions.

For this Role You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • 10+ years of related professional experience with 5+ years' sales experience to the Oil and Gas market, specifically in the Natural Gas industry
  • Proficient in selling software licenses and implementation services
  • Proven track record selling at ‘C’ Level and Senior Management Levels
  • Proven track record working with technical resources and sales management 
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Engineering field
  • MBA
  • Experience in the natural gas industry, preferably in the transportation (pipelines and storage) space
  • Familiarity with enterprise software implementations involving multiple departments. 

Our Offer To You

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - 150,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to this role. This role will also be eligible for additional bonus, based on Emerson's sales and commission guidelines.
